What exactly is Hyundai trying to accomplish with this silly advertising campaign? Check the Videos section for examples of these commercials. They're silly - and while they may help Hyundai sell Accels and/or Elantras, they're not doing Anything at all for vehicles like the Genesis - which is where Hyundai wants to head - into the luxury market.
The beginning of the "Smart" commercial (also in our Video section) is a little weak, but by the end you're saying to yourself, "Wow! WTF?! Hyundai?". So that was pretty good. But they have to stop with this silly "Duh" stuff right away. Mercedes wouldn't do this. Lexus wouldn't. Would BMW? Of course not.
Somebody needs to have a talk with Hyundai - and Hyundai needs to talk to their marketing people. From this point on, the marketing has to be serious. Instead of "Duh", how about "Isn't it obvious?"...
